Issues related to Reconditioned Motor Vehicle discussed

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2020 of Bangladesh Reconditioned Vehicles Importers and Dealers Association (BARVIDA) was held recently at the capital. Mr. Abdul Haque, President of BARVIDA chaired the meeting while the Secretary General, Vice-Presidents and the Executive Committee Members attendant. Former Presidents and Secretary Generals of the organization also joined the meeting. Around 400 members of the Association were present.

Addressing the meeting, BARVIDA President Mr. Abdul Haque said that the present executive committee of the association is extending their effort to develop the reconditioned vehicle sector, and also the matters relating to the interest of all members. The committee is also working to solve the custom valuation problems of new and old cars. To lead the nationalised trade organization, the President urged the young generation to come up with their IT knowledge and bold leadership.     
      
Mr. Mohammad Shahidul Islam, Secretary General of BARVIDA, in his power point presentation highlighted the activities of the association held in last 1 year. He also presented the income and expenditure of the organization at the meeting.

The annual budget of the Association was approved by the members at the  meeting, and the auditor for the year 2020-2021 was appointed.       

It may be mentioned that BARVIDA, the national trade organization in reconditioned Vehicles importing sector has more is contributing 85% of total car supply of the country for the last 3 decades.

    BARVIDA has been contributing lion's share in the country's transport sector by supplying vehicles over the last more than 3 decades.

    Currently, around 900 enterprises under the BARVIDA membership are in operations across the country. 

    The total investment in this sector is Tk 20,000 Crore.

    More than 1 lakh people are employed in this sector directly or indirectly.

    The enlisted BARVIDA member companies pay few Thousands Crore taka as revenue to the Government in a year.
