Eminent corporate leader of the country, Kamran Bakr has joined the Board of Robi Axiata Limited as an Independent Non-Executive Director. Kamran replaced Thayaparan Sangarapillai in Robi’s Board of Directors. He will also serve as Chairman of the Board Risk and Compliance Committee, ‍a press release said. 

Welcoming Kamran to the Board, Chairman of Robi Board, Dato’ Izzaddin Idris said: “The depth of Kamran’s corporate experience especially in the FMCG business and his fresh insights will serve the Board well in charting a solid growth path as Robi’s transformation into the Digital Champion of the industry continues to gain traction. We wish him all the best in his new role and look forward to his stewardship in realising Robi’s vision for a digitally inclusive future, aligning with our broader goal of Advancing Asia.” 

Kamran led Unilever Bangladesh from 2012 to 2017 as its Chairman & Managing Director and Unilever Nepal as its Managing Director from 2007 to 2011. He also served as non-Executive Chairman of Unilever Bangladesh Limited since 2018 till mid-2020.
